Thom Kieffer

Thom Kieffer joined Prairie Trust, a division of Waukesha State Bank, in March 2020 as Senior Trust Administrator following an extensive career leading the trust and retirement services department at WNB Financial, NA (formerly Winona National Bank) in Winona, Minnesota. With more than 35 years of experience in trust, financial advisory and tax planning, Thom brings comprehensive expertise in wealth management, financial planning, business development, and investment management. He was promoted to Vice President – Senior Trust Administrator in June 2020.

Thom transitioned to Waukesha State Bank’s Wealth Management division in 2025 and currently serves as Vice President – Senior Wealth Advisor. In this position, he focuses on business development and relationship management, helping clients navigate complex financial situations and achieve their long-term goals.

Thom earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota and holds Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designations in addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He recently converted his status to inactive after 35 years of active CPA status and membership in the AICPA.

Thom and his wife are empty nesters currently residing in New Berlin and remain active in the community. He has lead efforts for decades to grow the sport of curling including chairing events on local, regional and national levels and serving on the Board of Directors and volunteering as a new member skills trainer for the Wauwatosa Curling Club. Thom shares his time and talents at his church serving on Church Counsel and as its Treasurer. In addition, he has served extended terms in leadership roles on several nonprofit boards including Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, The National Exchange Club and Winona State University Foundation Board of Trustees.
